Hey folks. Weekly update from **AC: Dreamweave**. Last week we made mules obsolete and introduced the web-based market. This week we released two more groundbreaking updates: dynamic dungeon content generation, and character facets (loadout profiles).

### First, if you've never heard of us

Dreamweave is a custom AC server built to **add a layer on top** of an already magical game. Brand new mechanics, lore, content that preserves the original game while adding new content and unique enhancements to play as well.

**Custom class abilities that never lock you in.** Eight class trainers, each with a tree of real mechanical abilities. Abilities have *affinities* - their magnitude scales off retail skills you've actually trained, so your build feeds your class instead of replacing it. There's a full planner in the browser: https://wiki.acdreamweave.com/planner/

**Custom crafting with new mechanics that visibly change the item.** We introduced a whole layer of systems retail never had - equipment mods, weapon mods, spell rerolls. These aren't invisible stat bumps: exceptional crafts receive a visual effect to broadcast their power. Yes, your craft can add particle effects to the wielded weapon. We've published a tool you can play with before you spend a single bag of salvage: https://wiki.acdreamweave.com/crafting/

**Quality of life beyond any other server.** Account-wide banked pyreals. A personal vault vendor you can summon anywhere with `/mule`. A trade market that works in game *and* in your browser. Marketplace stations for salvaging, forging, reforging, respeccing and spell tutoring. Pickup and turn speed boosts. Fellowship commands that handle invites and leech warnings for you. https://market.acdreamweave.com/. And the two new features below.

**Player feedback shipped daily.** "Every day is patch day." Bugs and suggestions posted in the Discord are regularly fixed, tested and live the next day. Patch notes go up on the wiki and discord every round. Players are heard, feedback is appreciated, time is respected.

### This week's highlight: Threads

**Every Thread is a dungeon with uniquely generated content and rewards.**

A **Thread Gem** opens your own private copy of a retail dungeon. Retail's spawns are stripped out entirely. In their place, the dungeon is repopulated from scratch with a monster roster drawn to the level on your gem, and capped with a boss who always sits a step above the rest.

Same halls you remember. A completely different fight, every single time.

**How it works**

- Pick up a **Raw Fragment** from Fragment-Clerk Maren Idswold at the Drift Network hub. Fragments run from **level 185 all the way to 375**.
- Optionally load it with **spell components** - scarabs, herbs, powders, tapers, potions, talismans. Reagent-Steward Aya Torimaru stands right beside her and sells nearly all of them at Marketplace prices.
- Take it to the **Fragment Press**. Out comes your Thread Gem.

The components you load steer what the gem becomes: its level, how many entries it holds, how nasty the monsters get, and what bonus it pays out. Leave a slot empty and it rolls wild. Which component does what? That's yours to discover - we're not publishing the table.

**The danger is the point.** Modifiers like Hardy, Savage, Enraged and Teeming make the dungeon harder, and every one of them makes the payout bigger. Want a quick, clean run? Press a gentle gem. Want to push? Stack the pain and get paid for it.

**What you walk out with**

- **XP and luminance on every kill**, scaling up with the gem's level and every modifier you stack.
- **Loot up to tier 8**, gear ratings included - plus bonus modifiers that can raise loot quantity or give you a salvage affinity for a specific material.
- **A Thread Cache when the boss falls** - Trade Notes plus a pile of loot rolled from the run's own table, and only you can open it.
- **Daily quest.** Turn your clears in to Survey-Archivist Teodor Brannock, with rewards that step up at 1, 5 and 10 completions and scale with the level of thread you cleared.

**The touches that make it feel fair**

- A live kill counter tells you exactly how far along you are, and whether the boss is still standing.
- We pulled the room-wiping ring spells off every monster in a Thread. You'll still get hit - just not by a wall of Exsanguinating Wave.

Think PoE Maps with AC style.

### Also live: Facets - one character, up to four builds

Ever wanted to try a void mage, but not badly enough to level a second character from scratch?

**Facets** give every character extra build slots. Each facet keeps its own:

- trained and specialized skills (and the XP invested in them)
- class ability ranks
- innate attribute arrangement
- equipped gear set

What's shared across all of them: your level, experience, attribute ranks, vitals, augmentations, spellbook, luminance and inventory. **XP you earn on any facet is available to every facet.**

Stand in the Marketplace, type `/facet 2`, and you're a different build - skills swapped, abilities swapped, gear re-equipped from what you own. No relog. No second character. Keep levelling, and every build levels with you.

- Facet 2 unlocks at **level 20**
- Facet 3 at **level 300**
- Facet 4 at **level 400**

`/facet help` walks you through the rest.

Last week: Making Mules Obsolete. This week: Enabling more alts and character builds without penalizing your main.

### Keep your main server. Try us on the side.

We're not asking anyone to walk away from the server they call home. Keep your main right where it is. Roll a Dreamweave character on the side, give it a few evenings, and see how it feels.

Park your spare gear in `/mule` from anywhere. List it on the market from your phone. Swap builds without a relog. Run a dungeon that has never existed before. Experience the best QOL AC has to offer.

We're confident the quality of life and fresh new mechanics will give you a fresh new take on AC. We appreciate all the feedback we can get during beta to make the best possible go-live experience in October!
