Need suggestions :,)

AskJammu

Basically, I’m not from Jammu. I’m M 20 year old pursuing my law degree here, and ever since I came, I’ve found it rather difficult to find people I genuinely get along with. So, naturally, instead of making friends like a normal person, I’ve started travelling to empty places on my Saturdays😭😭😭😭

I’ve realised that I’m not really a fan of crowded, overly commercial places. I’m more drawn towards that old-money, 90s kind of atmosphere quiet streets, old markets, ancient architecture, simple people, countryside, maybe an old chai shop where time seems to have stopped somewhere around 1997.

So I’m looking for places around Jammu that have that sort of character: calm, peaceful, reasonably safe, good people, old-world charm, and preferably something that doesn’t require me to sell a kidney to afford the trip. 😂

If you know of any hidden gems old markets, forgotten towns, ancient villages, riversides, forts, countryside spots, or just places where one can sit peacefully and disappear for a few hours please recommend them.

Budget is very much a part of the research. I’m a law student, not a Maharaja. 😭
