Does carnival return confiscated items?

2 years ago, I was traveling around and had one bottle of spirits with me (not much of a drinker, but that was a special bottle). Security at Port Miami flagged it and discreetly told me about a restaurant across the street that would keep it for me for $3/day or something like that. I was just on MSC and they returned confiscated items at the end. Is carnival doing the same thing now?
