[FL] Autistic employee came to my office expressing concern about his employer

Workplace Issues

For context I work as an HR director in the education/health industry. Half of our building is a school while the other half is a health/fitness center. This individual works in the fitness department and has recently complained about his employer (who I am above obviously) claiming that he has been disrespectful and unprofessional by shaming him and calling him names. Even though he can perform and meet the expectations of the job, he can progress more slowly at times due to his autism and that is his perception of why his employer is supposedly treating him like that. I would like to add that his disability was noted during the interview process so we were made aware of it and that he may need additional time/accommodations for things but I’m hesitant to address this to his employer because from experience, most autistic individuals are difficult to work with and I have a suspicion that he could be lying about this even though I have no proof that he is being dishonest. Not trying to come off as rude, but I really do not enjoy working with these kinds of people. Has anyone else ever been through this? Any feedback is greatly appreciated

Thank you
