TW- Missed Miscarriage
I made a post 4 days ago if anyone wants to go look back.
I am so sad writing this. My LMP was Jul 3rd, Intercourse ONE time was Jul 17th, Positive test was Aug 3rd. I went in for my first ultrasound on Sep 1st. I should have been measuring at 8 weeks and 4 days, but was only measuring 6 weeks and 1 day. They saw a heartbeat, cardiac activity, and everything else needed. My office showed zero concern and scheduled me for 5 weeks out, being Oct 7th.
Once my ultrasound results came in, the notes said “check FHTs prior to next OB”. I called them the next day asking when I could schedule that. The nurse acted very confused and ended up telling me that they meant they would do a FHT check on Oct 7th before meeting with my OB. At this point, I was crying because I know in my heart something was off. The days were off by 17 days behind! I mentioned I have terrible anxiety and a bad gut feeling and would like to request to be seen sooner. She handed me over to another nurse that told me word for word “Oct 7th is when we will check FHTs. If you bleed or cramp before then call us.” It’s clear they weren’t budging. I started calling around to other offices and ultrasound technicians and of course, they needed my information to be released from my current office. I sent a not so nice message to my office, and filled out a medical release form to be sent to another office. Two days later, they still hadn’t sent it over and did so right after we got off the phone, but said it would take up to a week before the other office received them. I couldn’t schedule an appointment with this new office until they received my release.
I ended up taking matters into my own hands and went into a well known boutique ultrasound office tonight. Per my LMP due date, I would be 10 weeks today. Based off of my new due date, I would be 7 weeks and 4 days today. Well tonight the ultrasound showed zero heartbeat, zero cardiac activity, and embryo was only measuring 6 weeks 1-4 days. The lady looked visibly sad and told me to contact my drs office for confirmation. She also didn’t charge me, it was supposed to be $100.
That being said, I really did have a gut feeling. My symptoms stopped and I just knew. Please always advocate for yourself, I wish I would have a bit more. Listen to your bodies! They know more than you think. I don’t know what my next steps are, but I do know I just want it to be over.
Take care, April mamas ❤️
