My Credit Cards- Is this the most optimum?
Hi. I currently have the following 3 cards:
- HDFC Millennia – My primary card for Amazon (usually <₹2k/month) and general spends.
- HDFC Tata Neu LTF – I use this mainly for 5% back on BigBasket grocery spends. The rewards accelerate a little when I use the Tata Neu app. However, I use Pluxee as much as possible first and then use this card, so the spends aren't particularly high.
- HDFC RuPay UPI Card – Primarily for UPI spends.
The reason for my preference for HDFC across all three cards is that I want autopay on my cards. I have a fear of missing a payment deadline and ending up paying interest.
One thing I particularly like about the Tata Neu card, apart from the benefits mentioned above, is that I can see the NeuCoins directly in my BigBasket cart and use them at a 1:1 value.
I don't get the same benefit with the RuPay UPI or Millennia card. For example, with Millennia, I would need to redeem 860 points for a ₹500 Amazon voucher.
My spends aren't particularly high either. My average monthly credit card bill is around ₹20–25k, roughly:
- ₹8–11k on HDFC Millennia
- ₹8–11k on HDFC RuPay UPI
- ~₹4k on HDFC Tata Neu
Given this spending pattern, is this the most optimal card setup for me, or is there a better combination of cards I should consider?
I'm particularly interested in whether I'm leaving meaningful rewards on the table by sticking with this setup, while keeping things reasonably simple.
