Does Amazon Prime always get linked to a previous Twitch account?

So my older brother unlinked their Twitch account from Amazon Prime and deleted their account. I asked him for permission to link my Twitch account to his Prime account so I could use a free Prime sub, and he agreed, but he didn't know if it would work. Is this acceptable to do, or will Twitch still remember my brother's former account being linked to his Amazon Prime, and my account won't be accepted? Thank you.
