Is his behavior concerning or am I leading him one?

I’ve been intimate with a close guy friend for almost 3 years. We gradually started being intimate, never really discussed what we were, but we knew we weren’t dating so I assumed we were FWBs. He told me he’d be exclusively intimate with me for his own reasons even though I said there was no need to but I didn’t question his choice.

Recently, though, he’s been saying some things that are starting to concern me. Yesterday, when we were intimate he asked me if he could still be intimate with me if I had a husband. I shut that down immediately. I then asked him what he would do if he was married, and he said he wouldn’t care if he had a girlfriend or a wife…he’d still be intimate with me.

I honestly can’t tell if he’s being serious. He’s done other things before too, like saying “my future is really lucky because he gets to have sex with me every day,” crazy amounts of compliments, asks me to tell him I love him and miss him and staring at my face at all times during intimacy and he’s even gotten jealous when I interact with my other guy friends .

I haven’t been intimate with him since he said these things, and I’m starting to wonder if I should just end the FWB altogether because of his recent behavior. He’s a really good friend despite the intimacy so I’m not sure if it’s possible to go back to being friends.

Anyone else had an FWB say things like this? or is this just strange and concerning? Or am I giving him false hopes
