So I tried playing Rocket League after almost a decade of not playing. What happened to this game?

:Discussion: DISCUSSION

Yea, so my very first game in about 10 years is making me wonder how the player base got to be so toxic. I apparently was not playing up to others standards (in casual play, mind you) to the point i was immediately getting messages saying "uninstall bro, you're trash" and even being told to kill myself. Though I've never seen this in Rocket league before, I've heard it all and ignored it.

HOWEVER.... earlier today my son was playing on my account when he started getting the same type of messages. He even mentioned its his first time playing and that he's only 8 years old, only to be harassed and threatened to be reported because "you're not allowed to play this game so young". Which was obviously not true, but he goes on harassing my son, so my son replies with something like "imagine being mean to a kid when its its first time playing. You must be a loser". This punk got so butthurt he reported my son for "bullying", calls my son a "Jit" (which i was raised to believe is a racial slur) then leaves before he could be reported.

My account now has a 7 day comms ban, while this punk ass bully gets NOTHING! I appealed it and nothing.

I can't help but to wonder a couple things...

  1. Why is it okay to harass children, insult them, then get them banned the moment they say something as childishly innocent as "you're a loser" when he was clearly saying worse... TO A CHILD!

  2. When the hell did the player base turn both so soft and toxic at the same time?

I used to love this game and got back into it to play with my son, but now im disgusted with the way this all went down within just 2 DAYS back!

Game has been deleted and I dont think ill ever play anything by Epic Games again.
