Does Internal Medicine Outpatient ever get better?

// Vent //

Hi. New grad here. I’m doing IM outpatient which feels like FM with a little longer of visits. I’ve been doing this for 4 months and I’m so incredibly burnt out. I see around 10-15 people a day (this includes acute addons like UC) and I struggle staying on top of notes, timeframe, limiting patients to so many complaints, inbox, lab results needing to be addressed, insurance denying everything, etc. I had two weeks of “training” and then took on the full schedule of the PA I was replacing. I’ve spoke to my SP and he couldn’t care less of my struggles. The other two PAs said it takes a year or two to get used to it but I find myself hating my job and dreading to go everyday. Did any of you hate your first job? I WANT to like IM and continue but not if it’s only going give me a constant state of burnout. Advice?
