What's living in Spring, TX like? (And the Houston area in general)
For reference...
I'm a Black male. Mid 20s. Single. No kids. From Los Angeles. Currently live in DC. Accepted a job offer in Spring, TX. Will be making a little over 110k. I plan to eventually move to Midtown or EaDo, but wanted to live close to work for now.
Can anyone give insight to what the lifestyle might be like for someone like me? I plan to venture into Houston frequently, but also want to be able to enjoy the local community I live in.
I don't drink/smoke and am not a huge party person (but I still like going to social events, bars, etc. at times). More on the introverted side, but I'm friendly and easy going when you talk to me.
I like nature, live music, spirituality, and just experiencing different things in general. I'm pretty open minded and adventurous.
Would love to hear from anybody who has insight, but I'm especially interested in perspectives from Black residents.
What's the Black community like in Spring and in the Houston area in general? What are some cool things to do? Places to frequent to meet new and like minded people? Any tips in general? If you know of any Black social groups, that would be great!
I have been to Houston multiple times before, and do have some family in the area. My family is also from New Orleans, so I'll be able to drive and visit them too.
I really appreciate any insight anyone has. Thanks!
