Theory: Early season makes balance feel worse
If you’re Emerald: You’re not playing vs the Late season emeralds you’re used to, you’re playing vs atleast 4 Challengers /GM/ Masters if not all other 7.
This is true for gold + plat vs emeralds etc. you get the idea
As I was climbing up until recently - In emerald / dia I noticed a lot of Hardstucks vs Early season Masters+ who are still climbing from Rank Reset (myself included)
This makes judging balance hard, why?
Because it doesn’t matter what you are gonna play, whether it’s meta, contested, RR
80% of the time the guy who was ex GM+ is gonna beat you, a 3 season emerald.
And so how can you judge what comp is broken or not? whether the early season climbers are playing reroll, fast 9 when it was bad before, fast 8 with better line selection: they’re gonna beat your ass regardless
So how can your brain fathom this reality where seemingly every comp seems OP, and everything you do isn’t working? It’s over-whelming
I suggest laying a tiny bit off the balance team until Early season resets have climbed to their original rank, because if you try spot flaws now - you’re trying in a world where these guys WILL beat you no matter what their strategy is.
And this makes feedback skewed, we’re essentially giving balance feedbacks in Smurf-Queue right now.
It might not translate well once everyone’s ranks are accurate
