Need help with kitten

I adopted a kitten about 5 months ago. He is now 9 months old.

When I first got him he was very calm and cuddly. But all he wants to do is play constantly. Ive tried the recommended 15-20 min play cycle but he just wants more. Even after an hour of play he wants more. If I stop he rips up cardboard or paper which I believe he does to get my attention.

I dont know how to get him to calm down. I just want him to be happy and calm
