*The Ice season was slowly entering the country of Gusteko, it wasn't as if Colette's hometown had ever gotten warm, but she still wasn't immune to the incoming chill. The air was far, far colder compared to the typical year though.*

Gahh! It's cold, so, so cold.

*Though adults would likely laugh and tease her for saying this considering she was still twelve. Too young to know what a "typical season" was they'd say. Maybe that's why they kicked her out... No it wasn't. She was "cursed".*

*After finishing the washing of her hands in the cold stream water, she had returned to her small cabin in the woods to warm up. But first, the meteor her parents gave her, she had to pick it up. The only thing in this tiny place that could support the Ice season's chill was the fireplace she had. The house, well not fully a house. Just a simple cabin that wasn't too big.*

*Colette had many failures in this forest and cabin, but with each of those the opportunity to learn, could grow and help her once she tried again. It followed her mantra, slowly but steadily, one step at a time.*

N-No need to rush, it's still only the ice season. Though it'll be tougher on me if I don't-

*Interrupted by another chill, Colette decided to rest the thought of speaking to herself. Maybe it was to save warmth that could be in this desolate cabin, maybe it was because she knew her voice called out to nobody. Either could be choices.*

*Hmm, weird things were happening recently. Palmyra had disappeared recently, without a trace. It's so saddening that my only friend could be gone. Nobody else in this village is... here. But crying isn't fit! Slowly but steadily, one step at a time.*

*A mantra to get herself through tough Ice seasons and loss. Whether it be of her parents, grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles- that's a sure lot of family. Or Palmyra who recently... left? Well it isn't known but it doesn't seem like the village plans to even look for her.*

*Go outside, chop wood, bring wood to the fireplace and heat it up. Find a rabbit on the ground, cook it, eat it on the fireplace. Day in and day out, ever since she'd been kicked out from her village she had lived a rudimentary life.*

*It seemed as if a mabeast had a attraction to her. Her family had came back from a business trip and that night, the villagers found only Colette alive. Her mother and father killed horribly. So cousins, aunts, grandparents, and villagers all took her in but the same result happened to them.*

*With that she was branded cursed, horrible. Just a disgusting girl the witch's miasma must love. One pushed out the village so they can be safe. The mabeast has been said to appear in the western parts of the forest as that could be where it lives. A horrid witch Colette is, one controlling of that mabeast. Or that's what the stupid adults believe.*

*Though with Palmyra gone, the one who sacrificed animals to it to keep it in check. Maybe things won't go all well. She was the only one hoping for it to not freak-out so with her current disappearance, no way could things go well.*

*Forgetting about that... The meteor! Yes, the meteor. She had to put it back on, after-all she was done with the day. It was the last thing from her parents, given to her after their business trip. Nothing else she has is from them.*

*Counting on her fingers, Colette has finished all her chores. Chopping wood, cooking food, washing her hands. Everything is done. The day's rudimentary work is done. With that, all she has left is rest. Not much else can be done with her.*

There, all cleaned up now. Still, it’s so cold… I’m gonna have to hurry and warm myself up by the fire.

The "Witch" Girl?
