starter motor died

2018 Silverado 5.3L with 141K miles. Stopped for lunch on the Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park. After lunch, tried to start the truck and got all the expected dash lights, but the engine is not turning over. No cell phone service. Long story short, got towed to a repair shop and they had one guy turn the ignition key while another gave the starter motor a tap with a hammer, and vroom, started up. Luckily they had a new starter motor on the shelf, fitted up, and away we went. One terminal on the old starter motor was burned up. Sheet happens, hope y'all had a better day than we did.
