Should I wait for the 2027 G14 or just get the 2026 AMD G14?

I've been going back and forth on this for a while and would really appreciate some opinions from G14 owners.

I'm currently using a Dell G15 5530 (i5-13450HX/RTX 3050) with 16GB RAM, which I upgraded from 8GB before RAM prices went crazy. The biggest issue now is honestly just how bulky it is. Ever since moving into a hostel, carrying the laptop around with its huge power brick has become a pain.

I'm also usually sitting around 97–98% RAM usage. My normal usage is around 15–17 Brave tabs, sometimes Chrome alongside it (occasionally 2 profiles) with another ~7 tabs, plus Spotify and whatever else I'm doing. I know 32GB is probably overkill for my actual needs, so please don't flame me for that 😂. I mainly see it as a quality-of-life upgrade, especially with how I use my laptop, and since I'd want to keep this one for several years, I'd rather have the headroom.

I'm looking at the 2026 G14 AMD — Ryzen AI 9 465 + RTX 5060 + 32GB RAM + 2TB SSD, which is around ₹2.9 lakh in India.

The main thing making me hesitate is the 2027 model. The biggest feature I'd like to see is a proper haptic trackpad. That's probably the one thing I feel the 2026 G14 is missing for me. It's definitely not a dealbreaker, though, because the 2026 already seems like an amazing machine.

There's another reason I'm suddenly much more hesitant about waiting: Apple's recent price increases.

I bought my iPhone 17 and iPad just before their respective price hikes, so I've kind of had a front-row seat to this 😭. My iPhone 17 was around ₹82–83k MRP when I bought it, and now it's basically ₹1 lakh. With Apple increasing prices across multiple product categories, I'm a little worried that other manufacturers could eventually follow similar pricing trends too.

Obviously ASUS doesn't have to follow Apple, but considering the 2026 G14 is already ~₹2.9L, I'm a bit nervous about waiting a year and then finding out the 2027 model is significantly more expensive. At that point I'd be paying considerably more just to potentially get a better trackpad and whatever else the new model brings.

I also considered a MacBook Air/Pro before the price hikes, but I play Genshin Impact on and off, and since macOS doesn't support it natively, the G14 makes much more sense for me.

A couple of other questions:

1. Does the 2026 AMD G14 actually work well with a ~100W USB-C charger in real-world use?
2. Can I play Genshin or other light games while using the 100W USB-C charger, or is that mainly useful for productivity/light workloads and I'd still need the main brick for gaming?
3. Given my situation, would you personally buy the 2026 now at ~₹2.9L or wait for the 2027 G14?
4. Do you think there's any realistic chance the 2027 model ends up substantially more expensive, or am I overthinking the whole Apple price-hike thing?

I'm not really looking to upgrade every year either. I'd ideally keep this laptop for several years, so I'm trying to figure out whether waiting for a potentially better trackpad is worth the risk of a higher price — especially when the 2026 already solves basically all of my current problems.
