Alan Wake (1) appreciation?
With all the questions from relative newcomers lately about which games they should play before Resonant, I've been seeing a lot of comments that seem to disparage the original Alan Wake (I do agree though that it's not a required play for Resonant).
Now don't get me wrong, everyone is absolutely entitled to their opinion. However, I'd love to hear from anyone here who is still a fan of the first game.
I played it back in 2010 when it released and loved it and I've since replayed the remastered edition and still love it. It was such a breath of fresh air at the time and it felt so obvious that Remedy put an overwhelming amount of care into it. Also, as an Aussie, it was awesome to hear Nick Cage and the Bad Seeds in a videogame.
I do wonder if the dislike for it stems from the fact that, gameplay and style-wise, it is very different to AW2 and Control. Maybe that makes it age poorly in hindsight for some, I don't know.
