Why tell me he’s married?
About 15+ years ago, I hooked up with a guy a few times drunken, I assumed he was separated. Five years ago, after no contact, we met for dinner while he was in town. He took me back to his hotel, told me he was married, and I immediately left before anything happened.
Recently, we reconnected and planned to meet up when he visits my city in a couple of weeks. There’s zero emotional connection here, I just wanted a late-night hookup, but he wanted to spend the whole day together and started texting me everyday and sending pics.
Out of nowhere, he texts me to tell me he’s still married. Because he explicitly told me, I cut off all contact. I’m not playing the mistress role knowingly.
A few questions for Reddit:
Why tell me he’s married again, knowing full well I walked away last time because of it?
Why ruin the vibe with unnecessary info? I never would have asked his status because I don’t ask him personal questions. Heck I don’t even know what city he lives in or if he has kids.
Why is he trying to do so much emotional/conversational heavy lifting via text when we’re strictly a casual hookup?
Why stay married for nearly 20 years just to keep pulling this move?
