How friendly are tailgates with opposing fans?

I come from Detroit in peace. First time visitor to a Bills game. Just wondering what to expect on gameday as I'd like to get the full Bills Mafia experience. I'd like to try Pizza Pete's slice. I'll have my own drinks and shot to offer as an olive branch. Also, any food recommendations near Niagara Falls?
