Can a new Roku remote connect to a TV's power and volume without need of the TV remote to install it?

question (NOT support)

My TV is about six years old, and today the only button (on the bottom of the TV) to access anything on the TV broke. A year ago, the TV remote broke, and neither getting a replacement TV remote nor downloading a TV remote phone app solved the problem.... Because you need a functioning TV remote to press "yes" when the TV prompts you asking if you want to accept a new detected remote.

All to say! I have a Roku Express 3930RW, and the remote allows me to turn on the TV, and watch what I want. However, there's no power or volume buttons on this older version's remote, so I can't change the volume at all now, nor can I turn off the TV. I have to unplug it from the outlet to do so, every single time I use it.

This obviously is annoying, and I really don't want to have to get a new TV...So I was wondering: would getting a new Roku specific all-in-one remote work for this? (I'm looking at this product in particular) And if so, would I be able to get it to connect via the Roku box vs the TV, so I don't run into the same problem I did before, where I can't accept it via the TV? Thank you for your time reading this!
