Doing my first multi-day trip on a Speed Twin 900, what am I missing comfort wise?
Planning about 1800km over four days next month and the Speed Twin is great around town but I've never done more than a few hours on it at once. Trying to sort the comfort stuff before I commit.
Here's where I'm at so far:
- Bar risers, about an inch up and back. Took most of the weight off my wrists.
- Small flyscreen. Not a touring shield but it takes the chest pressure off at highway speed.
- Padded base layer shorts. Felt ridiculous buying them, would not go back.
- Grip puppies for the vibration.
- Seat was the big one. Stock is flat and firm and my tailbone was done after 3 hours. Looked at Corbin, Sargent and Luimoto, went with a gel insert and recover since I didn't want to change the bike's look.
- Cheap throttle lock so I can shake my right hand out.
What else should I be sorting? Happy to be told I've overlooked something obvious.
