Question why do people mod civics?

I truly don’t understand why people choose a civic or accord to mod. I see so many on the streets now it just looks and sounds goofy it being straight down piped spitting noise pollution and your 0-60 is still 8 seconds. No one is turning heads when you rev your little v4 or thinking “damn that’s clean” when you take off from a stoplight it’s just regular traffic bro why not spend all that money on something else instead of trying to make it look like a M5😭✌️
