I just dropped DMC5

Setting aside the issue with V, who is one of the worst I’ve ever encountered in a video game (and there are countless examples of horrible characters)—the main reason is the gameplay.... There’s so much—so, so much—variety in moves, weapons, and attacks… it overwhelms me. I don’t have the time to master all of that, and it makes me anxious. It’s absurd that they keep giving you stuff in Mission 12 (now a new hat that uses gems!! Wow) and I don’t even have all the weapons yet…

It seems to me that the game offers too many options for someone with OCD like me.

Another less important reason is the story and the characters.

I don’t usually play video games just for the story, and that’s not the case here (since practically no video game has a well-written story and they’re all garbage) but the story in this game is criminal. I’ve rarely seen anything as poorly written, bland, and absurd as this series, and the characters’ dialogue is enough to land someone in jail.

DMC1 will always have a place in my heart and in my memory, DMC3 is a great game, and I have a very, very special place in my heart for DMC4. But I’m really sorry to say it, this series is dead to me. I’m just too old now for these nonsensical scripts and these trashy stories. It’s just too much.
