Is medical science to finance possible?
Hey guys, so I’m a medical science graduate of 2025, 24M, and initially started my job search through pharma companies but most of them require experience. I’m grateful I at least have my casual pharmacy assistant job where I get shifts weekly but I really want to start a full time job. I’ve been really interested in finance and data analytics now and have been applying to 2 jobs a day for entry level jobs. I know my degree is left field but I’ve heard that finance companies love science majors. I’ve always liked number crunching and loved the excel components of my degree. I’m interested in healthcare finance or health econ but I think the industry here is quieter than other countries. I really don’t want to do a masters as my hecs debt is creeping up, at most I wouldn’t mind a 6 month grad cert perhaps in data analytics. Also I’m worried about AI taking over, if anyone in the industry has any tips on adapting to AI. Thanks.
