has anyone figured out the timing for dentist student loan refinance?

i'm finishing up dental school and trying to get a plan together for my loans before graduation sneaks up on me. i've been reading about dentist student loan refinance, but there seems to be a lot of conflicting advice depending on who you ask. i'll probably start working at a general practice after graduation and i'm not sure if it makes more sense to refinance right away or wait until i've had some steady income for a while. i also have both federal and private loans, which makes the decision a little more complicated.

for those who have actually gone through this, when did you refinance? did you wait until after your first year as a dentist or do it soon after graduation? what mattered most when comparing lenders besides the interest rate?
