Is Overwatch a “Girls’ Game”?

I just heard something that genuinely caught me off guard. I told a male friend I’ve known since high school that I play Overwatch, and he said, “Yeah, that’s a girls’ game.” He even compared playing Overwatch to playing with Barbie dolls.

Of course, I know he didn’t mean it maliciously. I live in Korea, and people here are still relatively less careful about saying things like that.

But I still found it pretty ridiculous. Regardless of what you think about Overwatch’s gameplay, I don’t understand why anyone would call it “a game for girls to play,” as if real men don’t play Overwatch.
