Just bought your first home? Here's a simple first-30-days checklist 🏡

Just bought your first home? Congratulations! 🏡

One thing I wish more new homeowners had is a simple checklist for the first few weeks.

Here are 7 things worth doing early:

1. Find your main water shutoff 💧
2. Locate your electrical panel ⚡
3. Check your smoke & CO detectors
4. Find out the age of your HVAC system
5. Check your water heater
6. Organize your important home documents
7. Start a home maintenance calendar

These are easy things to overlook when you're busy moving, unpacking and settling in.

I actually put these ideas, along with a 12-month maintenance calendar, emergency checklist, budgeting worksheets and other homeowner checklists, into a First-Time Homeowner Survival Guide.
