What can I do to be better for my boyfriend?

TLDR: I got a contraceptive implant that wrecked my emotional stability and made things I said I would never do in the past for my relationship to reassure my boyfriend and give him peace of mind. Even though I started therapy to work on my jealousy and mood swings, he has become distant and impatient with me. I feel unappreciated despite giving my all and I need advices on what to do to be better.

I (23F) have been with my boyfriend (24M) for a while now, and I really believe he's the one. About 3 months ago, I got a contraceptive arm implant so I wouldn't get pregnant, just to give him some peace of mind (his ex forced him to have a child and refused to get an abortion, turning his life into a living hell). I always said that an implant was something I would never get, but I got it for his sake and for the sake of our relationship.

With the implant came all the hormonal changes and I've been more unstable than ever (to be clear: I don't blame my actions or reactions on the implant, I'm simply more unstable and can't regulate them as well as before). It feels like I get upset over every little thing as if I have the emotional intelligence of a child or a young teenager.

Lately I feel like I need more reassurance from him (I also know that this is mostly something that comes from within me), and I've been getting jealous over everything. I'm aware that this has been an issue and we discussed this together, we agreed that I would get a psychologist to help me work on it so I got one.

I recently got a tattoo with his initial on my wrist (it's something I don't regret. I got it because he has been a very important person in my life and even if we don't last forever, he will always hold a special place in my heart. He was one of the people who helped me the most and helped me grow as a person) to show him I was really sure about us and to kind of reassure him in a way, it's like a tribute.

Lately, I feel like he has been very distant. He doesn't want to play games with me, watch a movie or a show with me, or do anything at all with me. It really feels like he's pulling away. He has no patience for me and it seems like he doesn't want to be with me at all, which I find unfair considering everything I've done to make this work and for him to be completely reassured about every little thing.

I changed my mentality to be more tolerant of certain things, I got the implant, I distanced myself from people who were important to me (not because he asked me to, it was because I realized they weren't such good influences and I wanted my relationship to work without having to deal with comments about it) and I let him do whatever he feels like doing, yet, it feels like nothing I do is enough.

I understand that I haven't been a perfect partner but I'm trying to improve for him and for us. I feel like I've made a great progress over the last month (I know it takes time). However, I think it's unfair that I have to deal with insults and phrases like "for god's sake, grow up" in every single minor argument we have.

I simply feel like everything I do is being unappreciated and I know there's a possibility he might be tired of me, but how do I change that? What else can I do? I'm giving my best every single day because I really want things with him to work out.

What can I do to be better?
