Welcome to r/EarlyChildhoodAU! 🇦🇺

I created this community because I noticed that while Australian teachers have spaces such as r/AustralianTeachers to connect, share experiences and discuss issues within their profession, there wasn’t really an equivalent Australian-focused space for those of us working in Early Childhood education and Care.

So, hopefully, this can become that space.

Whether you're an Educator, Lead Educator, Early Childhood Teacher, Trainee, Educational Leader, Assistant Director, Centre Director, manager, Inclusion Support, Administrator, Cook, Placement Student, or working in another part of the early childhood sector, you are welcome here.

The idea behind this community is simple: to bring people working across Australian early childhood education and care together to share knowledge, experiences, advice and perspectives.

What to Post
Feel free to post about things such as programming and documentation, EYLF/QKLG and curriculum, behaviour guidance, workplace situations, staffing and leadership, pay and conditions, qualifications, professional development, compliance, career pathways, resources, centre life, questions you have about the sector, or simply something you think other ECE professionals might relate to.

Community Vibe
We're all about being friendly, constructive, and inclusive. Let's build a space where everyone feels comfortable sharing and connecting.

A few things to keep in mind
• Please protect the privacy of children, families, colleagues and workplaces.
• Different services, states and territories may operate differently, so be respectful of different experiences.
• Healthy discussion and disagreement are welcome; personal attacks are not.

How to Get Started

  1. Introduce yourself in the comments below. You can share your role, state/territory and how long you've been working in early childhood.
  2. Post something today! Even a simple question can spark a great conversation.
  3. If you know someone who would love this community, invite them to join.

Thanks for being part of the very first wave.
