For those who married and moved out despite disagreements with their parents ,how did you handle it?
For those of you who got married and had disagreements with your parents afterwards, did any of you decide to move out and live separately with your partner? How did your parents react, and how did things turn out eventually?
I'm also curious about something else. What if your parents were already having financial problems or debts even before you got married? After marriage, how do you decide how much responsibility you should take for that?
Would you feel responsible for paying off their debts completely, or would you just give them a fixed amount every month to help them out? Or would you keep your finances separate and only help when absolutely necessary?
And what happens if your partner isn't comfortable with you taking on your parents' debts, especially if those debts were caused by your parents' own financial decisions? Would you still help them anyway, or would you prioritize your spouse and your own family's financial stability?
I'd really like to hear from people who have actually been through something like this. How did you balance being there for your parents while also building your own life and marriage?
