Lebanese cooking classes if anyone wants to meet new people + learn some proper home cooking š±š§
Hey guys,
Hope this is okay to post here.
My mom runs a small homemade food business called Em Aliās Kitchen in Furn El Chebek, and one of the things she offers is Lebanese cooking classes.
I thought this might actually fit this subreddit because the classes are not meant to be super formal or professional. Theyāre more of a relaxed, home-style experience where people can cook together, learn traditional Lebanese dishes, eat what they make, and hopefully meet some new people along the way.
So if youāre new to Lebanon, want to meet people outside the usual bar/coffee setting, or just want to learn how to make proper Lebanese food, it could be a fun little activity.
A bit about Em Aliās Kitchen as well: my mom has been running it for a couple of years now. Everything is cooked fresh and she shops specifically for the ingredients she needs rather than preparing things far in advance or relying on frozen/pre-made food.
The menu changes twice a week, and she doesnāt repeat dishes, so thereās always something different. Itās mainly traditional Lebanese home cooking with different mains, sides and desserts.
Weāre based in Furn El Chebek but deliver throughout the Greater Beirut area, and she also does catering for gatherings and events.
We were also fortunate enough to win a grant with UNESCO and Live Love Beirut to publish a cookbook about endangered recipes from South Lebanon, which is something weāre really proud of.
I know Reddit isnāt exactly the place for obvious advertising š, so mainly sharing this because I thought the cooking classes could genuinely be a nice way for people here to get together and do something different.
If anyone is interested in the classes, the weekly menus, delivery or catering, you can check out Em Aliās Kitchen on Instagram:
