Adding a prestige system to Pokemon games

Discussion

With Pokémon Bank shutting down Feb 26 2027, everyone's about to dump years of old boxes into Home. Problem is once my Timid Blaziken from 2003 in Pokemon Ruby hit Home it just sat there. While I don’t mind bringing him out for a tour of the latest region, I wish we had some way to carry these pokemon forward to new games and interact in a meaningful way without trivialising the entire game, or slogging through your old favourites ignoring your reincarnation as the latest generation’s protagonist.

Prestige system.

Hear me out: Once a Pokémon hits level 100, (perhaps require hyper training and EV training as well), you can pay a rare item, let’s say it’s called “Old Medal”, to reset the pokemon to Level 1 while retaining all the EVs, IVs, nature, marks and ribbons that made it unique.

Adding to this, imagine ribbons or titles for every prestige, visible on the summary screen. Or even game and region specific titles. Prestige Blaziken X times while it’s in Kalos, for example, and it gets a unique title for that, like “Kalosian Veteran”. This is the part that actually gets people to pull old Bank mons into current games and put work into them instead of just archiving and forgetting.

Feels like the perfect timing with the Bank shutdown forcing a mass migration anyway. Would you actually prestige your oldest buddies if this was a feature?
