"Stop criticizing characters. They are not real" Help me understand why I can't criticize movie / Tv shows characters

The emotions they display is of real people, the emotions I feel as a result of them, is also real, so why can't I talk about them?

These characters make us feel as any real person would, they exhibit emotions of real people, so why is a critique of their behavior deemed ridiculous?

Or is it only an issue if we criticize bad behaviors of your favorite characters? I honestly don't get it.

Let's say, I made a soup and someone stole the meat in it and that got me mad, and I later watched a FICTIONAL tv show where the exact same thing happened with different characters and that also got me mad, and I later heard a real life story where the same happened to someone else and that also got me mad, why am I only allowed to criticize one but not the other, when the issue for me is, stealing people's meat from their soup is wrong?

No matter what anyone thinks about the idea of eating meat, whether they are for it or against it, my emotions in regards to someone stealing the meat, whether in a fictional world or not, should not be dismissed over the "oh they are not real" mentality. I seriously don't get it.
