What I’d analyze before starting a YouTube channel
I see a lot of people choosing niches based on RPM. I think that’s backwards.
Before entering a niche, I’d look at:
-
Demand — Are multiple channels getting consistent views?
-
Winning topics — Which topics repeatedly perform?
-
Comments — What questions and problems keep coming up?
-
Content gaps — What are viewers asking for that creators aren't covering well?
-
Outliers — Why did certain videos outperform the rest?
Don’t just chase high RPM.
Find real demand + repeatable topics + room to compete.
Tools like Audi-Lyze, vidIQ, and TubeBuddy can make this research much easier and faster.
Research first. Create second.
What should you do if you start a channel today?
