Timeline Questions
Hello, my recruiter had reached out to me (and many others in the same email) to give me a timeline of my application.
Board meets January 2027
Board decision estimated April 2027
…that’s it. I’ve completed everything on AFCEP and Aim High, I’ve done my commander interview and taken the AFOQT (obviously). My scores…could’ve been better, not atrociously low, but not good either.
I’ve tried reaching out to my recruiter several times now to try and evaluate my package as a whole to see if I need to improve on anything and that everything is all good on my end. I don’t want to mess this up, so I wanted to make sure all is good.
My AFOQT scores:
Pilot: 30
CSO: 54
ABM: 34
AA: 34
Verbal: 63
Quantitative: 22
I am aware my test scores could be MUCH better, and as much as I’d like to retake it, I was told the AFOQT is not as heavily deciding as I’m making it out to be and that it’s a “whole person” type of evaluation? My GPA in college was a 3.7 and I have a bachelors degree. I was told by a buddy in the navy to reach out to a recruiter to see if retaking the test is worth the effort or not. The problem is that my recruiter does not return my emails.
Do I really just sit here and twiddle my thumbs til April to hear or see any sort of results? Part of me is wondering if my package just looks atrocious and that my recruiter is ghosting me because of this (maybe I’m not worth the effort compared to other applicants).
Some guidance would be nice, thank you guys.
