Wipe out OA to pay off remaining HDB?
Has anyone here actually wiped out most/all of their CPF OA to pay off their HDB loan early?
My spouse and I are considering using basically all our OA + some cash to fully clear our remaining HDB loan and become mortgage-free in our 30s.
Since OA earns 2.5% while the HDB loan is 2.6%, mathematically it seems pretty close either way. Our thinking is that once the loan is gone, our monthly CPF contributions can just rebuild the OA without any housing deductions.
Anyone done this? Any regrets, or would you do it again? Especially keen to hear from people who drained their OA quite low and rebuilt it afterwards.
