Is the fm 15 better now?

I'm building a bufferless rifle and since my first choice for uppers is out of stock until god knows when, I'm basically down to the fm 15 and the cmmg dissent. Most of the info I'm finding on the fm 15 is 2-3 years old, and it seems like it had a lot of problems back then. Have those issues been addressed or is it still kind of cheap and finicky?
