Question about bandages

Are the only way to actually just get bandages are going around the map? Cause i thought you can craft it on the anvil or buy from the tool trader. But after buying from the trader, i can only buy some before it just says purchased, and in the anvil it doesn't even show the bandage recipe. I just started playing like last week so i dont know if there was an update about nerfing bandages.
