I recently watched the educational video essays "[**THE SCAM OF ANTI-AGING**](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lzQQUmrwCw4)" by **Mina Le**, "[**Can I Age In Peace? Aging vs Social Media**](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_FNkced2Mg)" by **Karolina Żebrowska &** [**The Anti-Aging Propaganda | Khadija Mbowe**](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQoT0iIh4mE), and that got me thinking about how negatively older women or "hags" are portrayed in the mainstream media and the pressure of looking young/youthful.

The evil Queen Nehelenia is punished with an appearance that makes her look very ugly and old with wrinkles, while the heroic Sailor Guardians are blessed with eternal beauty and youth.

This visual trope is not found solely in \*Sailor Moon\*. In Otome Isekai or Romance Fantasy Mangas, Manhuas, Manhwas and Webtoons, the Female & Male Protagonists, including handsome (awful) Patriarchs of noble or royal families and Virtuous Wives, consistently retain their perfect, hot, youthful appearance.

Personally, I am afraid of getting older, especially because of the associated health problems and the risk of dementia, but do I really want to look like a teenager or someone stuck in their twenties forever? We all have to accept the fact that we will die one day, but I understand the burden and the fear that come with an aging body.

A fan or Redditor pointed out that it made no sense for the Sailor Guardians, especially Hotaru, not to look older on the day of Usagi and Mamoru's Wedding in the epilogue of \*Sailor Moon Cosmos Part 2\*.

Would you like to see the Sailor Senshi with a more mature appearance?
