Jio Air fiber executive lied
So I’ve been using Jio AirFiber as my ISP since 2024 because there was no other option in my location, smh (though I live in Southwest Delhi). But it’s been really unstable. I even had an internet outage for an entire week once in 2025.
Fast forward to 2026: I had an internet outage in my area twice in the same week. The technician response time is always at least 30 hours or so.
Now I’ve switched to a local broadband provider. They offer better speeds for the same price, but because I had already paid my Jio bill, I still kept the Hotstar and other plans for this month.
Now, for some reason, they ask you to pay in advance even though the connection is supposed to be postpaid. I didn’t think much of it and didn’t pay the amount. I then contacted customer care to terminate my account since it had already been suspended anyway.
They transferred me to someone higher up, and he tried to convince me to keep the services active. When I told him I was done with Jio, he said I still had to pay ₹709 even though I wasn’t going to use the service anymore. Like, WTF?
He said, “You should’ve told us before the bill cycle.” I didn’t say much because I knew arguing with him would be useless.
Later, I called again, and another customer executive picked up. I told her I wanted to cancel the termination request, but I wouldn’t be able to use the fiber for some time, so I asked if it was okay to just keep it idle without being charged.
She said that if I didn’t pay the due amount, the account would automatically get suspended and the connection would eventually be terminated. Then I asked her about the payment. She said I only had to pay for the first week of the month, which was around ₹200-something.
I confirmed it again, and she said yes, I would only have to pay around ₹250 for those 7 days.
Now my question is... why TF does Jio lie so much?
EDIT:- I called again and this time the customer service executive said that my account will automatically get terminated if I don't pay the bill for more than 60 days and the technician will come to collect the router and equipment.. meaning I don't have to pay anything apparently, I've recorded the call this time.. let's see what happens.
