eHEV question

Help Request

Hey everyone, I'm currently eyeing a Honda Fit eHEV in Taiwan. I like everything about the car, but I'm a bit confused about what to expect from the power unit during extended steep uphill climbs.

Many of the road trips I intend to do climb 3000m in as little as 50km. I imagine the battery would during the climb and I would no longer have the 250 Nm torque and I would be relying on the 96hp (and 125Nm) from the ICE output alone, using a fixed gear ratio and lock-up clutch. Would that feel like trying to go up steep hills in 5th gear in a 95hp car?

I'm quite sure that there is a gap in my understanding of how eHEV system works, and the engineers at Honda would have catered to this scenario, but I'm completely lost about what the behavior would be in such situations.

Would I be better off with a regular, non-hybrid Fit in this specific scenario? I'm also half-interested in the Corolla Sport, but I prefer the comfort and features of the Honda Fit over the power and sportiness of the Corolla Sport.
