My parents are ignorant me and I don't know how to go from here.

Hi reddit. I [15F] am dealing with this rocky situation with parents. Me and my mom [38F] aren't talking, and now my dad [38M] isn't talking to me too. It's a very long story, so I will try my best to summarize everything. I apologize if my grammar is messy, I'm not in a good thinking place right now.

For context, it started one morning in July when my mom woke me up to check who was outside our house. It was a delivery guy for my uncle so I went back inside and back in my room because I just woke up and I did not want to get up yet. When I went back inside I walked passed my dog, let's call him Griz, and he was whining, something he does when he sees me because he wants to play, but I wasn't in the mood yet because like I said, I just woke up. My mom got mad, saying Griz is already crying and I still won't let him pee. I said he just wants to play because I know Griz better than anyone else. She kept insisting he wants to pee and eventually she did it herself; I don't know if Griz did pee because she kept commanding him to pee.

When she came back inside the house, she got mad again, asking me why I am not yet preparing the food for Griz. I responded that I'll do it later because at that time it was still early and normally I feed him much later. My response made her more angry and we basically went back and forth at my doorway. My mom began going on about how I don't care about my dog, that I'm not taking care of my dog, that I should just "tell them if I don't want to take care of him so they'll do it instead" and whatever.

I love Griz. Griz is my grandpa's dog but he passed away last year and Griz was put under my mom's care. We take care of Griz but I mostly do the work—making him meals, letting him run around (they keep him chained), playing with him, etc. Everyone else sees him as my dog, because I go out of my way to be there for him because none of our other dogs play with him anymore and he's a really playful dog. With that said, of course when my mom said those, it upset me because I do majority of everything taking care of Griz. Just the night before that day, I even cleaned up a whole mess Griz made when I came home from school, so I couldn't believe she could just say those just because I wasn't making my dog's food immediately.

It didn't take long till I got up to make Griz's food but my mom kept berating me. The whole time I tried to keep my mouth shut because I'm prone to firing back when things get heated with my mom. My mow however was still running her mouth and my frustrations boiled over because she was really being unnecessarily hurtful. I began crying out of frustration and I unloaded the hurt I was feeling. In response, she called me dramatic and me crying is a "manipulation tactic" for sympathy. Her words further fueled what I was feeling and I told her she was being so dismissive and invalidating of me, and that she isn't acknowledging what I do for Griz.

I told her Griz is not hungry—he just wants company; however my mom now kept insisting Griz was hungry. It got to a point where I sort of challenged her that "let's see if he's really hungry or not" and she agreed. As expected, when I put Griz's food down, he didn't eat—he jumped on to me, proving my point that he just wanted to play. Instead of owning up to her wrong, my mom got mad again and dragged me to her room, yelling that I'm being disrespectful and "bastos". I'm not that type of kid who just keeps quiet; I have a strong tendency to stand up for myself when I know I'm being wronged.

Things got more heated; she started hitting me while telling me to shut up. She threatened to cut off my allowance for school and that "I'm on my own" now. The whole time I did not once raise my voice or anything to be disrespectful. She said it was my tone, but I was genuinely being as low and calm as I could be. My mom never hits me, but this wasn't the first time. The first time was when she was angry at me for coming home at lunch to change my clothes (I was wearing a Chinese dress for a school event and I wasn't comfortable with it because it rode up my legs).

Despite that, I kept trying to get her to see reason do far that I started begging her to listen to me. Soon my aunt stepped in to deescalate the situation and suddenly my mom began apologizing in a not so sincere way, saying she "isn't a good mother" and that she "raised a bad daughter". It was getting on my nerves because it felt like she was victimizing herself while mocking me. I double-downed saying "I'm sorry for not taking care of Griz—for not feeding him, for not playing with him, for not letting him pee". My aunt continued to calm us down and said I was sorry, but what I said just triggered my mom and she said quote "Sorry? Do you think she's sorry?" As if she wasn't the one with fake apologies. Soon she yelled for me to get out of the room and to never talk to her ever again; I did so after my failed attempts to resolve things with her. My aunt comforted me in my room and surprise surprise my mom was there outside my room to fight me again. The absurdity of her telling me to leave then following me when I did leave was unbelievable. That night, my dad talked to me about it and I acknowledged my wrong for not making Griz's food but I was firm on standing my ground. He told me to just apologize to her but I refused. Days passed and my dad messaged me to buy my mom a rose and to apologize. I did not. Instead I bought donuts and I let my little brother give her my favorite flavor, which is also her favorite flavor. My mom expects me to apologize first, but all I'm doing is fulfilling what she asked for—to not talk to her.

Nothing happened and since then I haven't spoken a word to her. Between them I only talked to my dad, whom I have a much rockier relationship with.

Things were going okay for me until a week ago when it was my exam days. I was rushing to finalize my output painting that I had to pass the following day and my dad messaged me to feed Griz, but I didn't yet because I was focusing on my finishing my output. I was making my painting a priority because it was worth a large portion of my grade in my specialization, and it was literally my exam day. Plus I never said I won't feed him. I was just finalizing my work because I nearly done. Next thing I know, my dad fed Griz and after that he's ignoring me. This isn't the first time my dad is ignoring me; the first time is during 8th grade when he assumed I blocked him on Facebook. He proceeded to say that he'll gladly disown me and he ignored me for a whole month.

Now my dad isn't talking to me again. I don't even know how to put into words how bad I feel. I believe it's my mom who's in the wrong for having too much pride and that my dad has too much ego, so I don't think I am in the wrong for anything... It sucks having to ask favors from my brother. It feels like I'm living with strangers. I'm just a teen who's learning whilst they're grown adults who are supposed to be guiding me through life, instead they're letting me figure everything by myself. I'm so lost and I don't know what's my next move. I'm trying to act strong but my heart is so heavy.
