Investment strategy
Hi guys, I am 23, and I've gotten my first salary and I want to start investing in mutual funds.
Risk Appetite: Moderate
Time horizon: 4 years. I would like for it to be longer but I might end up going for a masters abroad and hence I might need to take the money out.
I've gone through the guides in the subreddit but I want some further advice on which MFs to invest in.
-
Do I invest in AMCs or can I use apps like Groww? I know there's certain expense ratio advantages with using AMCs but I've also been told that there's guidance and flexibility that comes with apps like Groww.
-
Which app would you recommend? Does groww offer Direct plans?

Let's say I have around 5.5L that I want to invest in. I plan on investing 2L in liquid funds (50k each) as an emergency fund. I already have some small amount set aside apart from this 5.5L in my savings account too.
-
Do I invest this 50k each in one shot as a lump sum in each of these liquid funds? Or over time, around 5k in each of the four over 5 months so 20k a month.
-
Now for a moderate investor, what mix to I invest in equity, debt, gold? (50:25:25)?
-
What are some good mutual funds to invest in? I know this is a broad question.
Nippon small/ mid cap
Parag parikh flexi cap
Quant small cap
Motilal Oswal mid cap
Bandhan/ navi nifty 50
I will be investing 90k per month into MFs and 3.3L as a lump sum right now. Any suggestions on breakdowns or advice would help a lot. Thanks!
