CONFESSION
PS: SORRY PO AGAD IF MAY MALI SA ENGLISH GRAMMAR KO, WANT TO ENHANCE MY ENGLISH LANG HUHU. PLS DI NA ME MAKATULOG KAKAISIP SA KANYAAA HUHU
To MJ, the CEA boy
Today, I decided to transfer to another university, maybe somewhere in our province, Bicol, because I failed a major subject. It was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make because leaving PUP Manila means leaving you too—my classmate, the only guy friend I have, and maybe my TOTGA.
I remember during Balik Sinta, the same day you confessed your feelings to me—it was a rainy day when the sky wore shades of grey. The rain raged with a fury that seemed endless, but your presence was my shelter. I thought the rain would be too much for a girl who always longed for sunny skies. But even as the wind breathed its icy winter air, you wrapped me in comfort like a soft blanket.
The Linear Park, which heard our rants and cries; the Lagoon, which saw how happy we were while eating delicious food at every stall; the high Obelisk, which watched us from above and saw how we looked together; the tall trees and souvenir shop—all of them were silent witnesses. They guarded a fleeting yet unforgettable love that will remain etched in my heart.
The rain, once something I merely endured, became something I quietly cherished. It became a silent witness to the moment I started to love something unexpected. Because it brought me to you.
Thank you for everything, MJ—for every laugh, every whispered secret, every rant, and every night walk from CEA to Main with deep conversations about life and the future. All of it will stay with me, forever carved into the quiet corners of my heart.
Though fate allowed our paths to cross, our love story never truly intertwined. Yet you will always be my MJ, the CEA boy.
As I prepare to go back to our province and pull out my papers from PUP, I want you to know that I fell in love with you too, MJ. Yes, I know it’s too late to say this, because I’m leaving my classmate—perhaps my first love. I regret not being honest with you during your confession beneath the tall tree on the catwalk that day. Maybe it was because we were too busy avoiding the million raindrops from the sky, stinging our skin. I don’t know!
GUSTO RIN KITA, MJ. SANA ’DI PA HULI ANG LAHAT, AT SANA PUWEDE PA. SANA MAY NARARAMDAMAN KA PA RIN PARA SA AKIN.
Still, I’m so proud of you. I’ll be cheering for you from afar, believing in every dream you chase. You are a future Engineer, and I know with all my heart that you will reach that dream.
Until the rain returns, know that you remain my dearest memory, the warmth I clutch against the chill, the quiet solace where my heart once rested.
In this moment, I wish we could meet again beneath the tall tree on the catwalk, with the rain pouring down—the same rain that once bore witness to my happiness, or perhaps, to the love I never saw coming. I love you, MJ. I will miss you!
