how do you view financial responsibility towards a husband's parents after marriage?
I'm interested particularly in hearing from married women or women who have seriously thought about marriage and living separately from their husband's family.
Suppose the husband's parents already have financial problems or debts from before the marriage. After marriage, would you expect your husband to continue helping them financially? Would you be comfortable with him giving them a fixed amount every month, or would you feel that he should take full responsibility for their debts? Or would you prefer that your finances as a couple remain separate from those debts unless there is a genuine emergency?
What if the debts were mainly caused by the parents' own financial decisions and the husband feels responsible for helping them anyway? How would you feel if a significant portion of his income or savings went towards his parents?
I'm also curious about how women in Kerala generally see this after marriage. Is it considered the husband's responsibility regardless of what the wife thinks, or should these decisions be made together as a couple?
I'd especially appreciate honest perspectives from women who have experienced something similar, rather than just general opinions.how do you view financial responsibility towards a husband's parents after marriage?
