Challenger GT or Eco Boost
Hi everyone, I’m new to this whole Reddit thing so please bear with me and hear my situation.
I currently have a 2023 Toyota Camry that I am paying to much for and I am looking into getting something cheaper at a lower interest rate. I used to have a 2012 Cadillac CTS but in 2025 it got totaled due to a rear end accident. The job I was working at the time informed me if I did not have a vehicle in 3 days of the accident they would have to let me go. I found this Camry and hoped right on it ( even though it was out of my original budget, because it was a Toyota and they tend to be super reliable I signed regardless of the interest ). A week later my job let me go.
I have had the car for about a year now and I’m upside when it comes to the equity. I want to trade it in for a cheaper payment but then again I just bought/ financed a truck for the job I currently have and my credit is not the highest. ( I have two car payments, and as much as I would like to only have one my insurance is way cheaper if I have two vehicles on the policy) ive looked at trading in straight with the negative equity I have right now, I’ve looked at cash cars. And everything in between but just don’t know what is the right decision. I can afford the Camry but my gut is telling me to find something cheaper that is just as reliable and I’m not sure how to go about it without paying off the negative equity out of pocket. I totally understand I made a poor finical decision due to interest but I am looking for a way out if possible so I’m not just throwing away money anymore, any and all advice is greatly appreciated! Thank you guys!
Also I am looking into used challengers or eco boosts for they are smaller and just a decent on gas from the research I’ve done so any recommendations are greatly appreciated! Thank you!
