Want to camp once this year before the season ends?
Like every weekend this summer, Golden Ears / Alouette / Rolley /
Cultus / Alice Lake are showing zero for pretty much the rest
of the season.
The thing most people don't realize is that cancellations happen
constantly β plans fall apart Thursday and Friday, and those sites go
straight back into the pool. The problem is you have to be looking at
the exact moment it happens, and nobody can sit there refreshing for
three weeks.
I keep an eye on that for my own trips, and it's no extra effort to
watch a few more dates. There are services that charge for this. I'm not
one of them β free.
This isn't me remembering to look, by the way. It checks around the
clock, every few minutes, and the email goes out automatically the
moment your dates open up. You don't have to do anything but watch your
inbox.
DM me with:
- which park(s) you'd take
- which weekend, or "any weekend before it closes" if you're flexible
- minimum nights, and whether you need a specific site type
(tent pad / RV / walk-in)
- the email you want the alert sent to
Two things on timing, so we're not wasting each other's time:
Reservations close at 8pm two days before your arrival date. So for a
Friday arrival, you're booking by Wednesday 8pm at the latest. Get your
dates to me before then β ideally a week out β or there's nothing I can
do for you.
If something frees up after that cutoff it's not wasted, it just becomes
first-come, first-served. I'll still send it if you've told me you're
willing to drive up and take your chances.
You book it yourself, in your own name β I'm not touching your account
and I'm not reselling anything. That's against BC Parks' rules and also
a great way to ruin someone's long weekend.
No promises on results β whether anything opens up is down to whoever
cancels. But if it does, you'll know within minutes.
If it actually lands you a site and you feel like sending a coffee,
lovely, but really don't worry about it.
