This project genuinely took me nearly six months to get right. I explored everything from large 'box'‑style designs to more exposed Technic prototypes, but the free‑wheeling mechanism was always the biggest challenge. When LEGO introduced the new clutch gear in the recent 'Road Bike' set, it finally unlocked the potential for the compact and sleek design I’d been aiming for.

Excuse the poor editing of the images, I had to literally cut out and glue the decision wheel options to the spinning disks - though I'm sure these could be printed directly on to the piece!

I’m really happy with how it turned out - and I hope you enjoy it too.

Ever woken up on a Sunday morning and found yourself stuck on life’s smallest decisions?

Start the day with tea, coffee, or water?

Head out for a run, cycle, or swim?

Eat, rest, or build?

Now you can let The Decision Maker help you decide.

At its heart is the free‑spinning dial thanks to LEGO’s new 20‑Tooth Clutch Gear. Spin the crank, let go, and watch the dial 'free-wheel' smoothly for several seconds until it settles on one of the options.

The Decision Maker allows you to swap themes in seconds - each of the 10 printed discs offers a different set of prompts - from *Pizza / Sushi / Salad,* to *Focus / Break / Stretch* \- and the set also includes a special “Write Your Own” disc so you can create a custom wheel depending on the occasion.

The build itself is a blend of Technic and regular Lego bricks, with the mechanism fitting neatly inside a compact, sleek mantle‑style frame.

The spare discs are displayed neatly in a side rack, allowing you to store multiple options and switch them whenever required. The side rack can be connected to the side of the model, hidden at the back, or disconnected completely.

The Decision Maker aims to be a little moment of joy for your desk, celebrating what LEGO does best - being simple, clever and imaginative.
