Need advice choosing a Wi-Fi adapter for a cybersecurity lab
Hey everyone, I’m looking for a USB Wi-Fi adapter for learning Wi-Fi security in my own lab.
My budget is around ₹2,000–₹3000 (~$20-30USD). I mainly need reliable Linux/Kali support, monitor mode, and packet injection.
The options I’ve found so far are:
- TP-Link Archer T3U Plus (AC1300)
- AR9271 802.11n 150 Mbps adapter
Which one would you recommend?
Also, is the AR9271 chipset still a good choice for Kali Linux, and are there any driver/kernel compatibility issues I should know about?
I care more about stable monitor mode + packet injection and reliable Linux drivers than raw Wi-Fi speed.
If there are better options around ₹2,000–₹3000, I’d appreciate recommendations.
Thanks!
