Almost 1.5 months into BITS and I still haven’t really started college how do I get back on track?
It’s been almost 1.5 months since college started, but due to some health and personal issues... I’ve only actually been on campus for around 15 days
Because of that... I feel like I’ve missed out on a huge chunk of the initial college phase. I haven’t really been able to interact much with seniors, couldn’t get into any clubs/departments, and haven’t been able to properly gel with my wingies either. Every time I’m on campus, I somehow feel a bit alienated, like everyone has already settled in and I’m still trying to figure out where I fit......
Academics haven’t been going that well either. I’ve missed eval labs and other stuff because of being away, and honestly, I don’t think I’ve properly transitioned into college life yet.
At this point, I genuinely feel like I want to restart from day 1 If there was some button to reset the first few weeks and do everything again, I’d probably press it. But obviously that’s not possible.
So I wanted genuine advice
How do I actually get myself back on track from here?
How do I start interacting with seniors and my wingies without feeling like I’m already behind everyone?
And academically, what’s the best way to recover from missing classes, evals and labs without constantly feeling like I’m just catching-up?
I’d especially like to hear from anyone who joined late, or were not on campus for like initial weeks, or otherwise had a rough start to college. What did you do to get back into the flow?
Right now I’m basically looking for some practical advice on how to stop feeling stuck in the beginning
